Borneo Gong

Gerry Law reports that any 96th Entry who saw service in Borneo during the confrontation may be eligible for a gong.

The Malaysian Government is awarding a medal, the Pingat Jasa Malaysia (PJM), to all who served for a total of 90 days up to August 1966.

After a lot of lobbying, our Government has reversed its original ban on British veterans being allowed to accept the medal, but whereas the Australian and New-Zealand Governments have advised the Queen to permit their veterans to accept and wear it, our lot have just recommended that we can accept, but not wear the medal.

Anyone who wants to apply for it can get an application form from www.nmbva.co.uk

If you want to join an active campaign to get this ridiculous ruling reversed, add your voice at www.fight4thePJM.org

If you were there and qualified on time you earned it so why not apply for your just rewards and also kick up a fuss over the narrow minded ban on wearing your gong at the same time.

Any further questions on the matter please contact Gerry using the blue link remembering to amend the NOSPAM to an @ in the e-mail address.
